Chess.com Game Review limit: free options and alternatives

On Chess.com, the free Basic plan includes one full Game Review per day, according to its help center; Platinum and Diamond include unlimited reviews. If you want to review more games for free, Lichess analysis is free, and tools that analyze many games at once can show what repeats.

What the free Chess.com plan includes

Chess.com's membership page (updated July 21, 2026) lists one full game review analysis per day for the Basic plan. Gold includes everything in Basic. Platinum lists unlimited game review and analysis, and Diamond adds coach explanations for each move and customizable analysis settings.

Plans, prices and limits change, so check the official page before deciding. This guide describes the limits as published; it does not test every device or region.

Free alternative 1: Lichess analysis

Lichess offers a free analysis board powered by Stockfish, and you can import a PGN from any platform, including Chess.com. Its computer analysis marks inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders, and 'Learn from your mistakes' lets you retry critical moments of the analyzed game.

The trade-off is that you work game by game. Lichess shows you what went wrong in this game; it is up to you to notice whether the same cause appears in other games and to organize the practice.

Free alternative 2: review without an engine first

The most useful part of a review does not need an engine. Replay the game, mark two or three moments where you were unsure, and write the reply you expected. Then check with an engine. You learn more from the gap between your explanation and the engine than from the evaluation graph alone.

This also stretches the daily review: do your own pass on every game, and save the full engine review for the games that taught you the most.

When reviewing one game at a time is not enough

A single review explains one game. If you keep losing the same way, the useful question is what repeats across your last 10 or 30 games in the same time control. That needs many games analyzed together and grouped by cause.

Deblunder imports completed games from Chess.com (public username, no password), Lichess or PGN, analyzes up to 10 games in the chosen time control and can expand to 30. It explains causes on the board, finds the ones that repeat and turns them into training. The first diagnosis and training are free without a card; continued full access has paid terms shown in the app.

How to choose

If you want a detailed review of one game with coaching text, Chess.com's review is built for that. If you want free, unlimited engine analysis of individual games, use Lichess. If you want to know what keeps costing you points across many games and practice it, use a diagnosis and training tool.

You can combine them. Keep playing where you play, review the games that matter, and train the recurring causes between games. Never use analysis during a game in progress.
